Bonding & Veneers are a quick way to restore your smile
One of the quickest and most conservative options for cosmetic restoration is Dental Bonding. It is designed to correct esthetic flaws and minor damage, restoring the appearance of your smile. The procedure is simple and straight forward, generally completed in a single visit, and it usually requires little tooth alteration.
What is bonding?
Bonding is a super option for erasing spots, chips, and stains. In some cases, it also is used to close wide gaps, repair decayed areas and alter the shape of the tooth. Dr.William J. Cruse uses a top quality resin material, which is color mixed in the office to match your tooth precisely. Dr. Cruse will remove any decay, clean the tooth, and use an etching gel to roughen the surface slightly. The resin is adhered directly to your tooth and cured (hardened) with a special light.
Generally, local anesthesia is not necessary for dental bonding.
This quick, painless and relatively inexpensive procedure takes around 30 to 60 minutes in total; giving patients results to smile about.
When the procedure is complete, your tooth will look whole, healthy, and beautiful. No one would guess that you had dental work done!
Is it right for you?
Bonding resin, like many other materials use by a Dentist, is stronger, more durable, and more beautiful than ever. However, it does not match the lasting effect and appearance of porcelain. Porcelain is glassy translucent and has moderate opulence that mimics tooth enamel. It is stain resistant and extremely hard; in comparison resin is more susceptible to damage or stains. If the area to be treated is large, you may wish to consider a porcelain veneer for long lasting results and improved strength. For small blemishes, bonding is usually the best solution.
Bonding also seems to have a number of advantages over veneers; but the best option is not the same for everyone. Time is of the essence, that is why many of our patients choose bonding because it can be completed in a single visit. This is especially important if you want a perfect smile in time for a special event. Another great benefit of bonding is the minimal preparation needed. Veneers are conservative, but bonding is even more so. Anesthesia is rarely needed.
Are you unhappy with the way your teeth look? Do you wish you could totally change the way they appear, be it in shape, or size, color, length and width?
Fortunately, all of this is possible with the help of Dental Veneers!
In the past the only option to correct dental chips and damages was to cover the tooth with a crown. Today, there are several other means a Dentist has beside crowns, composite resin bonding, cosmetic contouring and dental veneers, to correct these imperfections.
Veneers are very thin, shell-like tooth covers that are permanently cemented onto the front surfaces of your teeth. They will change everything about your teeth and the results are absolutely outstanding!
This method is routinely used to fix color changes in teeth caused by root canal treatment, stains that may appear from excessive fluoride and other reason. such as large resin fillings that have changed color. Worn down, chipped, misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped or gapped teeth can all be treated with porcelain covers.
What makes you a candidate for Veneers?
Gaps between your teeth
Heavily stained teeth such as tetracycline stains
Cracked, chipped and damaged teeth surfaces
Short tooth crowns
Tooth wear, giving a prematurely aged look
Congenital tooth defects such as enamel hypoplasia, any of the for mentioned maladies can and will be corrected by dental veneers and bonding.
